The Effectiveness of 3.15% CHG / 70% Alcohol Hub Disinfection to Prevent CLABSIs

UNC Rex Healthcare

Central line-associated blood stream infection (CLABSI) events lead to increased complications, costs, morbidity and mortality. The abstract, which was presented at the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Conference in 2018, provides a review of CLABSI events at a large community hospital and the implementation of Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) / Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to reduce CLABSIs.
