Anya has more than thirteen years of experience advancing infection prevention in academic and community health systems. Before joining PDI as the Clinical Science Liaison for the Southeast region, she was an Infection Preventionist in Michigan and Senior Infection Control Epidemiologist, Director of Infection Prevention, and Regional Director in Maryland.
Anya is passionate about applying epidemiological principles and data driven insights to implement evidence-based practices, reduce risk, and influence clinicians toward sustainable improvement.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Master of Public Health degree in Hospital and Molecular Epidemiology from the University of Michigan. She is Certified in Infection Control (CIC).

Why I love what I do
Every patient deserves to be safe from healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), and I believe HAIs are preventable when clinicians are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources to do so. I am driven by this mission: to leverage epidemiological principles to empower clinicians and their leaders to make sustainable improvement in infection prevention, so patients can return to their loved ones having been helped rather than harmed by healthcare.
