O&M: Decolonization and HAI Prevention Science and Strategies

PDI is proud to partner with Owens & Minor for a free continuing education webinar program. Holly Montejano, MS, CIC, CPHQ, VA-BC, PDI Clinical Science Liaison will discuss decolonization strategies across various patient care settings. Nasal decolonization, as part of a layered infection prevention intervention, has shown to decrease the incidence of surgical site infections (SSI), blood stream infections (BSI), ventilator-associated pneumonias (VAP), as well as multi-drug resistant organism (MDRO) transmission/acquisition. Review the practice recommendations, the supporting science of the currently available nasal decolonization products, as well as explore targeted versus universal decolonization efforts in healthcare.
