Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does Easy Screen® have a contact time or EPA-registered kill claims?

No. Easy Screen® Cleaning Wipes are designed as screen and electronics cleaning wipes, not as EPA-registered disinfectants. They contain a 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) formula, which is the most commonly referenced concentration in equipment manufacturer cleaning instructions, but Easy Screen® does not carry EPA-registered kill claims or disinfectant contact times.

These wipes are intended to safely clean touchscreens, monitors, keyboards, and other sensitive surfaces where disinfectant products may not be recommended.

  • How compatible are Easy Screen® wipes on healthcare touch screen equipment?

70% IPA is the most compatible formulation for sensitive touch screen equipment in healthcare. It is the most referenced formula in equipment manufacturer’s instructions for use. PDI has performed extensive compatibility work on touch screen materials and equipment to confirm compatibility. Easy Screen wipes are compatible with polycarbonate, glass, aluminum silicate, acrylic, stainless steel and more!

[Cleaning the screen of your mobile device with a wipe containing alcohol may reduce the lifespan of any anti-fingerprint coating. Please check your device manufacturer’s cleaning instructions.]

  • What Personal Protective Equipment is required when using Easy Screen® Cleaning Wipes?

No personal protective equipment is required; however, we recommend that you follow your facility’s protocol on use of gloves and other personal protective equipment in clinical settings.

  • Does PDI offer a product that can be used to clean computer hardware, touch screens and keyboards?

Yes. Routine cleaning and disinfection of high-touch surfaces such as keyboards, mice, and touchscreens is important.

For touchscreens and delicate electronic surfaces*: PDI developed Easy Screen® Cleaning Wipes specifically for this purpose. The 70% IPA formula is the most referenced in healthcare equipment and electronic device manufacturers’ instructions for use, and PDI conducted extensive compatibility testing on touchscreen materials. Easy Screen wipes are proven safe for use on glass, polycarbonate, aluminum silicate, acrylic, stainless steel, and more.

For keyboards and mice: Sani-Cloth® disinfecting wipes are generally safe to use, but they are not intended for touchscreen monitors.

Note: Cleaning the screen of your mobile device with a wipe containing alcohol may reduce the lifespan of anti-fingerprint coatings. Always check your device manufacturer’s cleaning instructions.

    *Energized electronic equipment use only.
