Infection control in the US: 2016 year in review

2016 has been another busy year for infection control and hospital quality professionals. The following is a breakdown of five of the major infection control, patient safety and quality occurrences that affected U.S. hospitals this year, presented in no particular order: 1) Antibiotic resistance threat grows, 2) CMS overall hospital quality star ratings launch to chagrin of hospitals, 3) Devices put patients at risk, 4) Zika in the U.S., 5) Drug diversion in hospitals.
