According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there has been a decline in the rate of central line-associated bloodstream infections, among others, while other infections including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infections and Clostridium difficile remain problematic for U.S. hospitals.”
