C. Diff Infection Doubles Chances of Hospital Readmission

According to an analysis of seven Detroit Medical Center health system hospitals, patients diagnosed with Clostridium difficile infection were twice as likely to be readmitted within 30 days. Nearly 8% of those who were readmitted were diagnosed with recurrent C. diff, indicating the patient was not entirely cured prior to discharge.
