41% of multi-drug resistant infections are acquired when nursing home residents are hospitalized, more attention needed, researchers find

Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology is reporting in their October 2014 issue that a large number of multi-drug resistant infections that develop in nursing homes come from acute care hospitals. These findings suggest that the separate facilities must improve the way they collaborate with one another.
