Hand Hygiene Prevents Ailments

Hand Hygiene Prevents Ailments

During the International Infection Prevention Week being observed from October 18 to October 24, most medical experts want to bring attention to hospital-acquired infection (HAI). Experts say that healthcare providers should practise hand hygiene to disrupt the transmission of micro-organisms to patients before and after the contact with a patient; after contact with blood, body fluids, or contaminated surfaces (even if gloves are worn); before invasive procedures; and after removing gloves (wearing gloves is not enough to prevent the transmission of pathogens in healthcare settings).
